2015-2016: Received CSCAA Scholar All-America Honorable Mention ... garnered the Hartwick Frederick Binder Scholar-Athlete Award … also named the Empire 8 Conference Senior Scholar-Athlete Award winner … named a 2015-2016 Hartwick Phillip S. Wilder Jr. Award winner for academic distinction … selected to Empire 8 Fall President's List ... named to Empire 8 Sportsman of the Year Team … named Empire 8 Athlete of the Week (10/26) … leaves ’Wick as program record holder in the 200 fly (1:50.08) … 627.3 points on the year ranked second on the team … Empire 8 First Team and NCAA “B” cut time in 200 fly … was a part of three E8 Second Team relays in the 200 medley, 400 medley, and 800 free … won 21 individual races on the season … combined for another 15 victories in relay events … swam to fastest times on the team in 50, 100, and 200 fly … ranks fourth all-time in 100 fly at ’Wick.

2014-2015: Ranked third on the team in points with 486.8 … 196.25 dual meet points … 122 points at the UNYSCSA Championships … 12 first-place finishes on the year … holds program record in the 200 butterfly (1:50.08) … UNYSCSA All-Academic Team … earned Empire 8 First Team honors in the 200 butterfly and secured a Second Team finish in the 400 individual medley … swam to a “B” cut finish of 1:50.08 breaking Jason Faulconer’s 15-year old Hartwick record in the event … swam to a “B” time in the 400 IM which ranks second in program history … earned honorable mention All-America honors for the first time in his career in the 200 butterfly … became 26^th Hartwick male swimmer or diver to earn the distinction … also was 36^th in the 200 IM and 45^th in the 100 fly at nationals.

2013-2014: Had a career season with Hartwick as he posted 16 first-place finishes … second in points with 390.25 … had three individual top times during the season (100 fly - 53.20, 200 fly - 1.51.55, 400 IM - 4.07.34) … six relay wins over the course of the season … five second place and three third place finishes … earned Empire 8 Conference Second Team honors in the 200 fly.

2012-2013: Had seven second-place and eight third-place individual finishes … was a part of three second-place and five third-place relays … ranks third in school history in the 200 fly (with a time of 1:53.43 ... 179 points on the year ... 53.5 points accumulated at the UNYSCSA / Empire 8 Championship meet.

Prior to Hartwick: Attended Hannahan High School ... lettered in swimming all four years for the Hawks ... received honorable mention for three years.

Personal: Son of Sue and Todd Detar ...History/Religious Studies major ... mother, Sue, played field hockey and lacrosse at Lafayette ... father, Todd, played football at Delaware.
