Born in Oneonta, Clough bought his first camera in 1976 on the way to a soccer match, and subsequently taught himself how to process film and develop photographs in his home darkroom. Clough's photos have appeared in many magazines, yearbooks, programs and other publications, and he has photographed two World Cups and one Olympic Games.
Over the course of his career as a sports photographer - and for a time as Hartwick's Sports Information Director - Clough has shot every Hartwick team, amounting to thousands of student athletes captured on film. He can be seen beside Hartwick's courts and fields, camera bag in tow, setting up the perfect shot - and capturing cherished memories for each generation of Hartwick athletes.
"Ed's commitment and devotion to Hartwick College athletics is undeniable," said Ian Mcintyre '96. "[His] passion and enthusiasm for Hartwick Athletics is contagious, and he has become a true ambassador of our ‘Wick sports programs."
