Jerry O'Grady earned All-America honors from two organizations following his senior year as a member of the Hartwick College basketball team.
O'Grady was honored by both the National Basketball Coaches Association and Basketball Weekly magazine after a year in which he averaged better than 20 points per game while captaining Hartwick to an 18-5 record.
For his career, O'Grady scored 1,250 points, which ranked eighth in school history at the time of graduation. He also ranked among the schools top 10 in assists at the time of graduation, with 271 in his career.
He helped the Hawks to an NCAA Tournament bid in 1983, their first in Division III. In his four year career, Hartwick posted a record of 69-28.
