Kelly Cooman Kingsbury ’05 is one of the most decorated players in the history of the Hartwick field hockey program, playing four exceptional seasons from 2001-2004. She ranks as the program’s all-time leading point producer (164) and top goal scorer (68) while ranking third in career assists (28).
She guided the Hawks to four postseason berths and was an All-State selection in each of her four seasons. Kingsbury led the Empire 8 in scoring in her sophomore, junior, and senior seasons, while garnering state and conference accolades.
Kingsbury saved her best year for last as she registered career highs of 24 goals and 10 assists to help Hartwick to 16 victories, the Empire 8 title, and the second round of the NCAA Tournament in 2004.
At the conclusion of the year, Kingsbury was named a 1st Team All-American, the ECAC and Empire 8 Player of the Year, and was a 1st Team Empire 8, All-State, and All-Region pick. She was also a NYSWCAA Scholar Athlete, the Hartwick College Athlete of the Year, and ’Wick’s representative for NCAA Woman of the Year.
