Kirk Aikens was statistically ranked as one of the top wide receivers in NCAA Division III history. He was a standout player for the Hawks from 1995-98.

At the time of induction, Aikens held the NCAA Division III records for highest percentage of passes caught for a touchdown in a career (33.9%; 43 TDs on 127 catches) and highest percentage of passes caught for a touchdown in a season (55.5%; 20 TDs on 36 catches in 1998).

Aikens, who received third-team All-American honors from Football Gazette in 1998, played four seasons at Hartwick from 1995-98. He ended his varsity career with 127 catches for 2,902 yards and 43 touchdowns.

In 1998, Aikens helped the Hawks reach their first postseason game in school history with an appearance in the Eastern College Athletic Conference Northwest Championship Game. He had 36 catches for 956 yards and 20 touchdowns on the 1998 squad that finished with a 9-2 record.

A two-time ECAC all-star, Aikens was a three-time selection on the Football Gazette All-East Region Team from 1996-98. He was selected to compete in the Second Annual Martin Luther King Holiday All-Star Classic as a senior.

Aikens ended his four-year career as the school-record holder in career receiving yards (2,902), scoring (304 points), touchdowns (50), touchdown receptions (43) and kickoff returns for a touchdown (three).
