Mimi Bourquin was the first field hockey player to earn All-American in school history. She was a standout goalie and a four-year starter from 1988-91.
Bourquin earned first-team All-American honors as a senior and led Hartwick to a 20-5 record and a third-place finish in the 1991 NCAA Division III Tournament. She started in all 25 games and broke the school record for shutouts in a season (14), save percentage in a season (.932) and goals-against average in a season (0.72).
Bourquin helped the field hockey team improve from five wins in her freshman year to 20 victories as a senior. In 1990, she was the starting goalie on the squad that went 17-4 and reached the NCAA Tournament for the first time. Bourquin earned second-team regional All-American honors and broke the school record for lowest goals-against average (0.63) that year.
Hartwick competed in the New York State Women's Collegiate Athletic Association Tournament three times (1989-91) in her varsity career. The 1991 squad finished in second place and the 1990 team placed third.
In four seasons, Bourquin had a 50-27-2 record in 79 total games. She graduated as the school-record holder in career save percentage (.910), save percentage in a season (.932 in 1991), career saves (807), saves in a season (233 in 1991), career shutouts (33), shutouts in season (14 in 1991), and goals-against average in a season (0.72 in 1991). Bourquin held all seven records at the time of induction.
