Tara Wilkes ’04 is one of the premier players in the history of Hartwick field hockey program, earning numerous athletic and academic awards throughout her four-year career. She registered 91 points on 36 goals and 19 assists and ranked 7th in points, 8th in goals, and tied for 8th in assists in the ’Wick record books at the time of her induction.

After her junior season, Wilkes was named an STX/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) All-American. She was also a three-time All-Region pick (2001-03), earning First Team honors after her junior and senior seasons, and a three-time NYSWCAA First Team selection. Wilkes was the Empire 8 Conference Player of the Year and First Team All-Star in both 2002 and 2003 and played in the North/South Senior All-Star game. She helped her teams achieve 53 victories over her career and four postseason berths.

Academically, Wilkes was a four-time NFHCA All-Academic Team honoree and a NYSWCAA Scholar Athlete. She received the Margaret Lunn Memorial Award, was twice a Philip S. Wilder Jr. Award winner, made the Dean’s List as a freshman, and was named to the National Dean’s List as a sophomore.
