Hartwick College Athletics

Tara Wilkes ’04 is one of the premier players in the history of Hartwick field hockey program, earning numerous athletic and academic awards throughout her four-year career. She registered 91 points on 36 goals and 19 assists and ranked 7^th in points, 8^th in goals, and tied for 8^th in assists in the ’Wick record books at the time of her induction.

After her junior season, Wilkes was named an STX/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) All-American. She was also a three-time All-Region pick (2001-03), earning First Team honors after her junior and senior seasons, and a three-time NYSWCAA First Team selection. Wilkes was the Empire 8 Conference Player of the Year and First Team All-Star in both 2002 and 2003 and played in the North/South Senior All-Star game. She helped her teams achieve 53 victories over her career and four postseason berths.

Academically, Wilkes was a four-time NFHCA All-Academic Team honoree and a NYSWCAA Scholar Athlete. She received the Margaret Lunn Memorial Award, was twice a Philip S. Wilder Jr. Award winner, made the Dean’s List as a freshman, and was named to the National Dean’s List as a sophomore.
