ONEONTA, N.Y. - The Hartwick field hockey program is Empire 8 Championship Tournament-bound for the eighth consecutive year, finishing #2 in regular season conference standings and earning an automatic bye for the first round of playoff action.

The Hawks finished the season with an 11-5 overall record and went 9-1 in conference play to earn the #2 seed. They now await the winner of the #3 and #6 matchup on Saturday, November 1st, and will host semifinal play on Wednesday, November 5th.
The Hawks are led by defender Katelyn Klotz (South Glens Falls, N.Y.) who leads the team with 15 goals this season, along with 5 assists. Hope Angioletti (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) and Kayla Kinkel (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) have both also earned 8 goals apiece, while Angioletti leads the Hawks with 11 assists.

Goalkeeper Ava Reynolds (South Glens Falls, N.Y.) holds down the defense in the cage, posting a .846 save percentage for the season off of 104 total saves this year. Another bright spot in the defensive unit is Brianna Cottrell (Holland, N.Y.), who has notched two defensive saves this year.
"This team has faced many battles this season and each one has taught them a lesson," says Head Coach Erin Autera. "They have grown so much as a unit and I am excited to see what they can do this postseason."
