Hartwick Women's Lacrosse Sees Six Earn Empire 8 All-Conference Recognition

ONEONTA, N.Y. - The Hartwick Women's Lacrosse program placed six student-athletes on the Empire 8 All-Conference Team, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday, May 5.

Following another strong season under Head Coach Nora Fallon-Oben, the Hawks earned six all-conference selections, highlighted by Rookie of the Year Adelyn Esce (Cicero, NY). Esce, a Second Team honoree, was joined by senior captain Jammie Decker (Penn Yan, N.Y.), with both players earning their first career all-conference recognition.

Hartwick's offensive unit was further represented by Parker Laurin (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) and Lily Dempsey (Glenville, N.Y.), who each garnered Third Team honors. On the defensive end, Regan Kelly (Warwick, N.Y.) and Gabby Fitzgerald (Bellmore, NY) rounded out the selections, each collecting their first career honors on the third team.

Esce turned in an impressive debut campaign, tallying 22 goals and a team-high 27 assists for 49 points, the second-highest total on the team. She also contributed 43 draw controls, showcasing her all-around impact. Esce earned Empire 8 Offensive Player of the Week honors once during the season. Decker anchored the midfield with 21 goals and three assists while leading the team with 68 draw controls and 36 ground balls. She also added 23 caused turnovers, making her presence felt on both ends of the field.

Laurin paced the Hawks offensively, recording a team-high 41 goals and adding 10 assists for 51 points. Dempsey enjoyed a breakout season, posting 30 goals and 19 assists for 49 points, tying Esce for second on the team.

Kelly capped her senior season as a leader on the backline, finishing with 24 ground balls and 13 caused turnovers while serving as a steady presence in the clearing game. Fitzgerald made an immediate impact in her first year, collecting 28 ground balls and ranking second on the team with 22 caused turnovers.

In addition to the all-conference honors, Kelly was named Hartwick's representative for the Empire 8 Tomorrow's Leaders Team. This team honors a student-athlete who has emerged as a leader not only on the field of play, but in the classroom and in the community. In addition, they "compete with honor and integrity" and have distinguished themselves and consistently exhibit the critical traits as outstanding sportswomen.
