Suderley was named the Empire 8 Tournament Most Valuable Player on Saturday after he helped the Hawks to the league crown. He averaged 24 points and 10.5 rebounds per game while shooting .607 (17-for-28) from the floor in two victories. He scored a game-high 27 points on 10-of-15 shooting in a 90-85 win against Alfred in the semifinals and registered game-highs of 21 points and 14 rebounds in the championship against Nazareth.
