Maurer, a freshman goalkeeper, made her first Empire 8 Conference start on Saturday and earned her first career shutout in a 1-0 victory over Alfred. Maurer made three saves in the match. She also punched away several crosses sent into the box and came out to stuff a pair of Alfred breakaways in the game.
