Rood scored a pair of goals 7:46 apart in the first half of play to help Hartwick to a season-opening 3-0 victory over visiting St. Bonaventure Friday on Elmore Field. Rood scored in the 20^th minute for what would prove to be the game-winner and followed it up with a header goal to give the Hawks a two-goal cushion in the 28^th. It marked Rood’s first multi-goal game of his career at ‘Wick.
