Garey averaged 19.5 points and made 61.5% (8-of-13) of his three-point attempts, leading his team in scoring in both games, in a 2-0 week for the Hawks. He hit 6-of-10, including 3-of-5 from three-point range, with five boards and two steals in an 83-72 victory over local rival SUNY Oneonta on Tuesday. He then shot 8-of-14 from the floor and 5-of-8 from downtown with six rebounds in an 89-74 win over SUNY Delhi on Thursday. Garey also led all scorers in a loss to Division I Binghamton in an exhibition game on Saturday with 19 points. He went 7-of-9 from the field and connected on all five of his three-point attempts to go along with four assists. With the exhibition, the sophomore shot 64% from the field and 73% from three in the three Hartwick games.
