Ruzzi, who was named the Empire 8 Field Hockey Defensive Player of the Week on Monday, was an integral part of Hartwick's defensive effort in Saturday's 4-0 home shutout against Manhattanville. Ruzzi cut off attack after attack at the pass to stop the Valiants' offensive effort and send the ball back the other way as the Hawks searched for goals of their own. Manhattanville ended up with just seven shots on the day.
