Woodend won New York State and Empire 8 titles in three events this weekend at the UNYSCSA/E8 Championships in Ithaca. In addition, she set a total of six individual and relay records with four NCAA “B” cut times. Individually, she placed first with “B” cuts in the 50 free (23.61), 100 free (51.52), and 200 free (1:52.49). She became the first Hartwick swimmer to win the 50 free in nine years. She helped the Hartwick 400 and 800 free relay teams to Empire 8 Second Team honors. The 400 free team swam the event in 3:33.74, which was second-fastest in College history. The 800 free team time of 7:40.44 was an NCAA provisional qualifying standard and a Hartwick record. Woodend also helped the Hawks’ 200 free relay (1:38.18) and 200 medley relay (1:48.69) teams to ’Wick records.
