Hartwick College Athletics

Stanford had a solid weekend for Hartwick’s women’s lacrosse team in a pair of Empire 8 Conference games. The sophomore defender was huge in transition for the Hawks in both contests. On Saturday in an 18-12 victory over Alfred, she netted a free-position goal, which was just the second of her career, in the first half and grabbed two ground balls and a draw control. The next day in a 13-10 setback at Elmira, Stanford notched a career- and game-high seven ground balls with a caused turnover. Virtually all of her ground balls in the game were in traffic and quickly led to several offensive opportunities for the Hawks.
