Elmore Field

The Historic Elmore Field is the home to the Hawks' men's and women's soccer programs. Elmore was constructed on campus in the fall of 1948 and was initially used for football, track and baseball actvities. After some time, the field would only be used for the soccer programs and served as home field for the 1977 Division I National Champion men's soccer team.

A Glenn "Mooch" Myernick Memorial, in honor of the late Hartwick soccer great, also sits between Binder Gym and the soccer field.

Elmore Field unveiled a new scoreboard in 2016, in memorial dedication to Hartwick College alum and long-serving Sports Information Director, Ed Clough '60. For many years, Ed was a constant presence on the sidelines of the Hartwick athletics venues. Clough recorded generations of scholar-athletes with his team and individual player photographs.

“‘We are not everlasting, but this field will last forever…a useful instrument to good sportsmanship, healthy bodies for generations and generations,’ Mr. Elmore said as he acknowledged the christening of the new facilities as ‘Earle P. Elmore Field.’”
