Rochester Edges Hawks With Late Goal

             ROCHESTER, NY – Hartwick College (1-1) opened up the scoring in the 16th minute of the game, but it wasn't enough to get past the University of Rochester (1-1) in today's contest at Fauver Stadium. The Yellow Jackets scored three goals in the second half, including the game-winner with 1:06 showing on the clock.
             Sophomore Megan Sweeney (Foxboro, MA/Foxboro) scored her first collegiate goal when she knocked home a pass from senior Amanda Barton (Endwell, NY/Green) halfway through the first half.The Hawks held a 6-2 advantage in shots in the opening 35 minutes.
Anna Dobrzynski answered for Rochester less than four minutes into the second half for the first of two tallies on the day.
            Hartwick took a 2-1 lead at the 40:33 mark of the game when Bartonscored her first of the year from senior Angela Eberly (Harpursville, NY/Harpursville).ButRochester came back once again as Shelby Hall beat Mackenzie Chapman (Niskayuna, NY/Niskayuna) less than three minutes after Barton's goaland the game remained tied until the closing stages of the matchwhen Dobrzynski clinched the game with her second goal for the Jackets.
            Madison Wagner made two saves for the Yellow Jackets Chapman made four.
            Hartwick returns home Wednesday, September 8th against RPI at 7:00 p.m.
