Lonsky scored a career-high four times for Hartwick
Box Score ONEONTA, NY- Katie Lonsky (Dingmans Ferry, PA/Blair Academy) scored a career-high four goals as the Hartwick field hockey team had little trouble with visiting Morrisville and defeated the Mustangs 7-4 on Tuesday afternoon at Wright Stadium. Hartwick evens its record at 2-2 while Morrisville falls to 1-3.

The Mustangs had two shots in the opening 12 minutes of the game before Lonsky scored her first goal of the game in the 18th minute. The Hawks would quickly build their lead to 2-0 at 17:37 when Lonsky scored off a rebound from Morrisville goalkeeper Ellen DePasquale.

Later in the 34 minute, Cassie Jonaitis (Rocky Point, NY/Rocky Point) found Kelsey Kimble (Dingmans Ferry, PA/Delaware Valley) off a corner shot and Kimble deposited it in the back of the goal to put the Hawks ahead 3-0. The Mustangs would finally get on the board when Rebecca Quackenbush scored with seconds remaining on the clock to make it 3-1 Hartwick at halftime.

In the second half, Lonsky would give 'Wick the three-goal lead back on her score just 1:16 into the period. Jonaitis would hook up with Kimble again a little over 11 minutes later and the Hawks would hold a 6-1 advantage. Jonaitis would score a goal of her own in the 51st minute from Kelly Kramer (Royersford, PA/Villa Maria Academy) to put Hartwick ahead 7-1.

Morrisville would end the Hartwick scoring streak with their second goal of the contest in the 56th minute. Lonsky had her fourth score of the game less than three minutes later when her shot clanked off the inside post and into the goal for a 7-2 Hartwick lead. The Mustangs would score twice more in the game to complete the scoring.

Megan Campbell (Rutland, MA/Wachusett Regional) had six stops in goal for the Hawks. DePasquale had nine stops for the Mustangs.

The Hawks led the Mustangs in shots, 20-13, and in corners 17-9.

'Wick will next host a key Empire 8 match with Washington and Jefferson College this Saturday at 11 a.m. at Wright Stadium.
