ONEONTA, NY – Hartwick's swimming and diving teams each hosted quad meets with St. Rose, Utica, and Cazenovia on Saturday at Sally Griffiths Herbert '88 Aquatics Center. The Hartwick men finished with a perfect 3-0 mark against their opposition while the women went 2-1.
The men's team finished first in a total of eight events. They defeated St. Rose 148-132, Utica 220-47, and Cazenovia 222-15.
Senior
Miles Blaney (New York, NY/NYC Lab School) led the Hawks with three individual victories and he combined for another in a winning relay. Sophomore
Brendan Quinn (Raleigh, NC/Heritage) registered two individual wins and juniors
Ben Detar (Charleston, SC/Hanahan) and
Brendan Day (Westfield, MA/Westfield) each recorded one.
Blaney would take first in the 100 free (47.63), 200 free (1:45.34), and the 100 fly (52.77) on the day. Quinn touched the wall first in the 500 free (4:52.73) and the 1000 free (10:11.55). His time in the 500 free was a lifetime best. Detar took top billing in the 200 fly in a time of 1:58.04. Day won top honors in the 100 breast (1:03.10).

Joe Mulvehill (Penfield, NY/Penfield),
Brian Edmister (Belmont, NY/Genesee Valley Central), junior
Matt Plunkett (Cooper City, FL/Cooper City), and Blaney combined to take the 400 free relay. Their time was 3:15.81.
The 'Wick women defeated both Utica (208-56) and Cazenovia (224-28). They fell to St. Rose in the head-to-head by a count of 166-120.
Junior
Imma Rutligiano (Tillson, NY/John A. Coleman) and sophomore
Kelsey Elliott (Cortland, NY/Homer) each won two individual events to pace the team.
Rutigliano won the 200 free (2:00.02) and the 200 IM (2:16.09). Elliott finished first in the 50 free (25.70) and 100 free (55.33). Senior
Gwen Mathias (Sunland, CA/Southwestern Academy) also was victorious for the Hawks in the 1000 free in a time of 11:21.31.

Kaitlyn Campbell (Bartlett, IL/Glenbard North), and Rutigliano also secured a win in the 400 free relay. Their time was 3:48.87.
Hartwick's swimming and diving teams next compete on Saturday, November 1 at the University of Rochester.
