ROCHESTER, NY – The University of Rochester, which sits just outside the NFHCA national top 20 in the "receiving votes" category, stayed unbeaten Wednesday with a 5-0 win over Hartwick College's field hockey team in a match played at Fauver Stadium.
           
Megan Keil led the Yellowjackets on the day with two goals. Three other Rochester players also tallied.
           
Michelle Relin handed the hosts the lead roughly six minutes into the game. She tapped in from six yards out for her eighth goal of the season. Callie Fisher assisted.
           
Less than six minutes later, Keil scored on a backhand and the Yellowjackets' lead was two.   
           
Hartwick keeper Yanna Boggio (Amherst, NY/Amherst) and the Hawks' defense would then hold the Jackets scoreless for over thirty minutes of action.
           
Seven minutes, 43 seconds into the second half Rochester (6-0) finally broke through as Fisher scored on a Gina Cunningham feed. Keil added her second less than eight minutes later as U of R opened up a 4-0 edge.
           
Cunningham would close out the day's scoring 5:48 from the final horn. Samantha Dow picked up the helper on the play.
           
Boggio, Shannon Carter (Falls Church, VA/J.E.B Stuart), Laura Downey (Delmar, NY/Bethlehem), and Jilian Sabatino (Boonton, NJ/Boonton) all saw time in the 'Wick goal. Boggio came away with 14 saves in just over 50 minutes of action. Mikaelan Stuligross (Walton, NY/Walton) also earned a defensive save.
           
Hartwick (1-5) returns home where it plays Brockport on Saturday at 11 a.m. The Hawks are 23-16-1 against the Golden Eagles all-time.
