Box Score CANTON, NY – Host St. Lawrence scored all four of its goals in a 19:10 span in the first and second halves to come away with a 4-1 victory over Hartwick Saturday at North Country Field in Canton, NY. Hartwick got on the scoreboard late in the second half on the first career tally from sophomore
Rebecca Reilly (Riverhead, NY/Riverhead).
Despite the setback, the Hawks were outshot in the game by a narrow margin, 19-17. Ten different Hartwick players recorded at least a shot with six registering two or more.
The teams battled to a scoreless draw through the opening 23 minutes of the contest. The Saints drew first blood at 23:26 as Mikaela Thompson fed Sam Haab for a tap-in for a 1-0 edge.
Three minutes, 57 seconds later, St. Lawrence added to its total. Erica French scored from in close with Camille Burger picking up the assist and the Saints had a two-goal cushion.
The Hawks nearly made it into halftime down by two but SLU's Maggie Wraight dribbled through a couple of Hawk defenders and fired in with just 29 ticks left in the period to further the Saints' advantage.
Early in the second half, Kara Pelosi completed the St. Lawrence scoring for the day. French earned the helper.
Hartwick pressured the Saints' cage throughout the second half. The Hawks would outshoot their hosts by a 14-10 margin and held an 11-3 advantage in penalty corners for the 35 minutes. 'Wick would finally be rewarded when Reilly found the cage from the middle of the circle with 1:34 showing on the clock.

Laura Downey (Delmar, NY/Bethlehem) all played in goal for the Hawks. Boggio made seven saves with Carter picking up one.
Hartwick returns to action on Tuesday when it hosts Morrisville State at Wright Stadium beginning at 4 p.m.
