ONEONTA, NY – Hartwick outscored visiting Misericordia 4-1 over the final 16 minutes to pull out an 11-8 victory on Thursday at Wright Stadium. The Hawks improve to 5-8 overall with the victory.
Seniors
Emily Jweid (Marcy, NY/Whitesboro) and
Lisa Littleton (Yorktown, NY/Yorktown) registered the final four Hartwick goals in the win. Jweid would finish with a game-high four goals. Littleton ended the day with two goals and one assist.
Lauren Rosenberg (Smithtown, NY/Commack) added two goals and three assists for the Hawks with
Ashley Werner (Saugerties, NY/Saugerties) contributing a pair of tallies.
The Cougars led by a count of 3-2 through the first 21 minutes of action before the Hawks registered four of the final five goals in the first half to earn a 6-4 lead at halftime. Rosenberg scored twice in the half with
Ally Naja (Glens Falls, NY/South Glens Falls), Werner, and Jweid also tallying.
Misericordia scored three of the second half's opening four goals to draw even at 7-7 with 17:50 left to play. Jweid answered for Hartwick off a feed from Rosenberg at 15:53 to put the Hawks up to stay. Littleton then fired in both of her goals within a 1:04 span to give 'Wick a three-goal cushion with 12:02 left to play.
The Cougars got one back with just over five minutes left in the game to trim the gap to two, 10-8, but Jweid closed out the scoring from Littleton with 32 ticks left to clinch the win.

Steph Luce (Saratoga Springs, NY/Saratoga Springs) made 11 saves in cage to key the win. She tied Jweid, Rosenberg,
Mel Niewender (New Hyde Park, NY/New Hyde Park Memorial), and
Mattie Coffey (Ballston Spa, NY/Ballston Spa) for the team-high in ground balls with three.
Jweid grabbed a team-best four draw controls for 'Wick.
Caroline Stanford (Skaneateles, NY/Skaneateles) caused a team-high three turnovers on the defensive end.
Meagan Wright (Mahopac, NY/Mahopac) added a pair of caused turnovers and two ground balls.
Brooke North led Misericordia with four goals. Melina Juliano added two scores and two assists.
The Hawks will wrap up the regular season on Saturday. They play at Alfred University at 1 p.m.
