ONEONTA, NY – The last time a Hartwick women's soccer team captured the Mayor's Cup, most of the members of the current team weren't even born yet. It took 19 years, but the Hawks hoisted the cup once again for the second time in program history and first since 1996 following a 3-0 shutout of Delaware Valley.
The Hawks edged out SUNY Oneonta on goal differential for the crown after the Red Dragons defeated St. Joseph's 1-0 earlier in the day. Hartwick finishes the tournament without conceding a goal and starts the season 3-0 for the second straight year and for the third time in 20 seasons.

The Hawks dominated the proceedings, out-shooting the Aggies by a wide 19-4 margin. Freshman
Rachel Weir (New Milford, CT/New Milford) gave 'Wick the lead in the 38
th minute after she pounced on a loose ball and put her shot over the head of Aggies' keeper Breanna Coll.
'Wick held its one-goal lead for nearly 30 minutes in the second half before Daniels buried a penalty kick for the Hawks' second goal of the match. Richardson scored on a shot to the far left post following a throw-in.
