PINE VALLEY, NY – Emily Stone (Granby, CT/Granby Memorial) scored a game-high 14 points to lead the Hartwick Hawks women's basketball team Saturday to a 61-33 victory over Elmira at the Murray Athletic Center.
The Hawks up their season mark to 9-11 overall and 7-5 in Empire 8 play.
Stone hit 5-of-8 from the field in the game and dished out five assists.
Jacqui Foreman (Tolland, CT/Tolland) missed a double-double by one rebound with 13 points and nine boards.
Taylor Vonasek (Willington, CT/E.O. Smith) added 12 points.
The Hawks were dominant in the fourth quarter, out-scoring the Soaring Eagles by a 20-5 margin. The game was never in question as 'Wick led by seven or more after the 7:08 mark of the second quarter.
Caitlin Corbett (Altamont, NY/Guilderland) contributed seven points and five rebounds for the Hawks.
Carly Johnson (Greenville, NY/Greenville Central) added eight points and three steals.
Jessica Bellai (Schenectady, NY/Schalmont) had six points, a game-high five assists, and three assists.
The Hawks play at home against Nazareth on Tuesday at 8 p.m.
