ONEONTA, NY – Hartwick's men's lacrosse team was defeated in the final game of its season on Saturday to a powerful Ithaca team 16-3. The Bombers entered the game as the second-ranked team in the country. The Hawks close their season with an overall record of 4-10 and a 2-6 mark in the Empire 8.

Jake Sachse (Lutherville, MD/Boys' Latin School of MD),
Conner Long (Hardwick, NJ/Blair Academy), and
Chris Vaden (Rocky Point, NY/Rocky Point) in the contest.
Sam Ferguson (Baldwin, NY/Baldwin) and Vaden earned assists. Keeper
Mike Rourke (Long Beach, NY/Long Beach) made 10 saves in his final game between the pipes for the Hawks.
The Bombers would register the first goal of the game after 8:20 of scoreless action. Sachse tied the score a little less than three minutes later but Ithaca grabbed the lead for good with 1:35 remaining in the quarter.
Ithaca (16-1, 8-0 E8) would open up the game in the second quarter as they out-scored the Hawks 7-0 for a 9-1 advantage at the half and it never looked back in the victory.
Garrison Wojtas (Hauppauge, NY/Hauppauge) would lead the Hawks with four ground balls in the contest.
