ROCHESTER, NY –
Channing Lewis (Canton, OH/Canton McKinley) won three individual events but Hartwick's women's swimming and diving team lost to conference rival Nazareth by a final count of 162.5 to 131.5 on Saturday in Rochester. The result leaves the Hawks' record at 4-2.
Lewis began the day with a win in the 800 freestyle. Her time was 9:56.27. She also would secure victories in the 200 backstroke (2:32.57) and the 400 freestyle (4:51.23).
Hawks finished 1-2-3 in the 200 freestyle event.
Maddy Hayes (Eagan, MN/Eagan) won the race with a time of 2:16.29.
Abby Schwartz (Olean, NY/Olean) finished second and
Sierra Garcia (Saratoga Springs, NY/Saratoga Springs) took third.
Tori Argentieri (East Amherst, NY/Clarence) earned the other win for Hartwick on the day. She was victorious in the 200 fly in 2:33.69 with
Emma Reining (Hyde Park, NY/Franklin D. Roosevelt) taking second.
The Hawks next compete on Saturday, November 11 at home against Oneonta State beginning at 1 p.m.
