POTSDAM, NY – The Clarkson Golden Knights used eight consecutive goals to open up a lead 'Wick was unable to recover from as they took the match, 12-4 on Saturday in Potsdam. The loss puts the Hawks at 2-2 on the season while the Knights improve to 4-1.
Five goals were fired from the stick of Ryan DaRin in the first half with Kyle Brown, Ryan St. Croix and Sam Groves also finding the back of the net, 8-0.
With
2:11 left before the break,
Sam Ferguson's (Baldwin, NY/Baldwin) eighth goal of the season briefly slowed the Knights' momentum as he secured the goal with the help of a
David Demand (Chittenango, NY/Chittenango) pass.
Forty-eight ticks remained and St. Croix sailed in another to round out scoring prior to the intermission, 9-1.
Eric Schweitzer's (Babylon, NY/Babylon) third-quarter goal broke up two in the period for Clarkson, 11-2.
Cordell Armstrong (Harleysville, PA/Souderton Area) netted his second goal of the season for the blue and white before
Wyatt Long (Hardwick, NJ/Blair Academy) dished out an assist for Schweitzer to settle the final score.

Connor O'Brien (Duxbury, MA/Duxbury) made 14 saves for the Hawks. Nick Strandholm (10) and Colin Holt (3) tallied saves on the other side with Strandholm being credited with the win.
The Hawks will head to St. John Fisher looking to bounce back in their first Empire 8 meeting of the season. The opening face-off in Rochester is slated for
