CORTLAND, NY – The Hartwick men's swimming and diving team was in action today at SUNY Cortland. The Hawks improved to 7-3 in dual meets this season with a 160-138 win over the Red Dragons. Hartwick won 11 of 16 events on the day.
Aron Zhang (Douglaston, NY/Brooklyn Technical) and
Yury Chernyak (Sidney, NY/Sidney) each took home first place in three individual events on the day. Zhang captured first in the 200 back (1:57.20), 100 back (52.60) and 100 butterfly (54.83) events. Chernyak was tops in the 100 breast (1:01.36), 200 breast (2:16.55) and 200 IM (2:05.71).
Isaac Waide (East Haddam, CT/Nathan Hale-Ray) finished first in both the 500 free (5:11.22) and 1000 free (10:33.76).
Nathan Marshall (St. John's, Antigua and Barbuda/St. Anthony's) finished first in the 50 free (23.10).
Ryan McLoughlin (New Windsor, NY/Our Lady of Lourdes) earned rhe top spot in the 200 free (1:51.37).
Hartwick took first in the 200 medley relay with a team consisting of Zhang, Chernyak,
Oleg Gentry (Stamford, CT/Trinity-Pawling), and Marshall. Their time was 1:40.42.
The Hawks will next be in action next on Saturday, January 20 at home against Empire 8 foe Alfred University at 1 p.m. in Moyer Pool.
