ONEONTA, NY – Hartwick swept all three opponents on Saturday at Moyer Pool to improve to 4-0 on the young season. The Hawks topped St. Rose 161-118, Utica 225-44, and Cobleskill 240-10.
Hartwick would win a total of five events on the day.
Max Ferrick (Westford, MA/Westford Academy) won two as he took both the 200 fly and 500 free. He swam the 200 fly in a time of 2:07.04 and secured a time of 5:02.83 in the 500 free.
Brennan Walsh (Westerville, NY/New Albany Plains) placed first in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:06.54.
Aron Zhang (Douglaston, NY/Brooklyn Technical) earned topped billing in the 200 IM in 1:59.70.
The quartet of
Michael Baione (Poughquag, NY/Arlington),
Zach Skelton (Honeoye Falls, NY/Honeoye Falls-Lima),
Kaelan Betrian (Curacao, Netherlands Antilles/Trinity Christian), and
Nathan Marshall (St. John's, Antigua and Barbuda/St. Anthony's) combined to win the 200 free relay. They finished in 1:29.37.
The Hawks also had multiple second-place finishers on the day.
Ryan McLoughlin (New Windsor, NY/Our Lady of Lourdes) was runner-up in the 100 breast, 200 breast, and 500 free events. Zhang was second in the 100 back and 100 fly. Baione was runner-up in both the 50 free and 100 free.
Oleg Gentry (Stamford, CT/Trinity Pawling) was second in both diving events.
Bill Tague (Alpine, NY/Odessa Montour) was one spot out of first in the 1000 free.
Pacal Fernandez (San Pedro, CA/San Pedro) did the same in the 200 fly.
Hunter McRee (Doylestown, PA/Central Bucks East) took second in the 200 IM. Walsh, McRee, Gentry, and Skelton were also second in the 200 medley relay.
Hartwick is off until next Saturday, October 27 when the Hawks host SUNY New Paltz and King's College in a tri-meet beginning at 1 p.m.
