ONEONTA, NY – Hartwick's women's swimming and diving team dropped a 164-127 decision to visiting Nazareth College on Saturday at Moyer Pool. The Hawks are now 6-1 on the young season.
'Wick would win seven events on the day. The Hawks were runners-up in another seven.
Channing Lewis (Canton, OH/Canton McKinley) led Hartwick with three individual wins. She would capture top honors in the 1000 freestyle in 11:16.10, the 200 backstroke in 2:17.89, and the 500 freestyle in 5:31.49.
Gina Grauer (West Lawn, PA/Wilson) earned two wins for 'Wick in the breaststroke events. She won the 100 in 1:09.17 and the 200 in 2:31.87.
Tori Argentieri (East Amherst, NY/Clarence) took first in the 200 fly (2:17.63).
Emma Reining (Hyde Park, NY/Franklin D. Roosevelt) would take second.
Cecelia Mowrey (Johnstown, NY/Johnstown) swam to a first-place finish in the 200 individual medley (2:20.77). Argentieri was second. She also took second in the 100 butterfly.
Olivia Bart (Bristol, CT/Bristol Eastern) turned in second-place swims in the 50 freestyle and the 100 freestyle.
Ally Schroeder (Plantsville, CT/Southington), Grauer, Reining, and Bart placed second in the 200 medley relay (1:54.50). Bart, Grauer,
Abby Schwartz (Olean, NY/Olean), and
Caroline Dennis (Ithaca, NY/Lansing) were second in the 200 free relay (1:42.09).
Hartwick hosts SUNY Oneonta next Saturday at Moyer Pool beginning at 1 p.m.
