DELHI, NY – Hartwick men's tennis earned a 7-2 win over SUNY Delhi on Wednesday to improve to 8-4 on the season. The Hawks fell behind 2-1 after doubles play but ran the table in singles for the win.
Nikola Nedeljkovic (Portland, OR/Sunset) and
Jack Steinman (North Haven, CT/North Haven) won in first doubles, 8-2.
Tyler Adler (Pittsford, NY/East Rochester) and
Casey Serdiouk (Margaretville, NY/Margaretville Central) lost in a tie-breaker in second doubles, 8-7 (8-6).
Griffin Elliott (Watertown, NY/Watertown) and
Harry Helinski (Johnsburg, NY/Johnsburg) fell in the third flight, 8-6.
John Talbot (Middlesex, NY/Marcus Whitman), Nedeljkovic, and
Nick Adamou (New Milford, CT/New Milford) each dropped just three games in the first three singles flights, respectively. Steinman and Serdiouk won 6-4, 6-3 in fourth and sixth singles, respectively. Adler was a 6-1, 6-0 victor in the fifth flight.
Hartwick travels to Houghton College on Friday to face top-seeded Stevens in the Empire 8 semifinals. First serve is 4 p.m.
