Recap: The Hawks fell for the first time this season in a 2-0 decision against Ithaca Tuesday at Wright Stadium. The visitors opened the scoring 11:40 into the game. A penalty corner from Jacqueline Mirabile was played to Kimmy Briscoe on the near side. She played a ball in front that was deflected by Maria McGloin and the ball popped over Hartwick goalie
Allyson Osborne (Nottingham, PA/Solanco) for a 1-0 advantage. The Hawks would enter halftime down 1-0 despite a 7-4 edge in shots. Seven minutes, 54 seconds into the second half, the Bombers got some breathing room. McGloin got on the end of the play for her second goal of the day. Mirabile earned the assist. The Hawks held a 7-4 advantage in shots in the second half. They had perhaps their best opportunity with six and a half minutes left following a
Rebecca Peakes' (West Chester, PA/Unionville) corner.
Maria Stalder (New Woodstock, NY/Cazenovia) got the ball at the top of the circle and fired a shot that forced a diving stop from Ithaca keeper Savanna Lenker. On the near side of goal,
Val Palmeri (Endwell, NY/Maine Endwell) picked up the rebound and rang her shot off the post. Hartwick would double up the Bombers in shots, 14-7.
Perry Willett (Huntington, VT/Mount Mansfield Union) would register six of the Hawks' shots on the day. Osborne finished with three saves.
