Women’s Swimming and Diving Nabs Trio of Wins at Quint-Meet

ONEONTA, NY – The Hartwick women's swimming and diving team went 3-1 during Saturday's home quint-meet to follow up on their strong performance in last week's Hartwick Relays. They defeated SUNY Cobleskill (214-37), Utica (218-42), and Cazenovia (217-32), falling narrowly to The College of Saint Rose (129-141).

The Hawks had top-two finishes in both of the day's relays. Channing Lewis (Canton, OH/Canton McKinley), Gina Grauer (West Lawn, PA/Wilson), Tori Argentieri (East Amherst, NY/Clarence), and Olivia Bart (Bristol, CT/Bristol Eastern) started the day with a second place finish in the 200 medley relay in 1:55.04. Bart, Abby Miller (Oneonta, NY/Oneonta), Abby Schwartz (Olean, NY/Olean), and Grauer finished the day with a win in the 200 free relay, touching up in 1:43.45.

Bart led the way individually for the Hawks, grabbing two wins. She won both the 50 and 100 free, in 24.85 and 55.45 seconds, respectively. Schwartz, Grauer, and Argentieri all had one victory apiece. Schwartz took the 1000 free in 11:21.43, beating out her teammate Lewis who was in second at 11:24.78. Schwartz also had second-place finishes in the 200 free (2:04.63) and the 500 free (5:34.65). Grauer won the 200 breast with a time of 2:35.12, and finished second in the 100 breast at 1:10.34. Argentieri took gold in the 100 fly, touching up in 1:02.26, as well as grabbing second in the 200 fly in 2:17.88.

The only other second-place finish went to Lewis, who ended up there in the 200 back with a time of 2:19.97.

The Hawks keep their season going in a week, when they travel to New Paltz on Saturday, November 2 for a 1 p.m. meet with a different Hawks squad.
