CORTLAND, NY – Despite wins from Tori Argentieri (East Amherst, NY/Clarence) in all three of her races, the Hartwick women's swimming and diving team could not get in the win column in their first dual meet of the new year, falling to Cortland, 176-116. The loss drops the Hawks to 6-3 on the season.

Argentieri took the victory in both butterfly events. She won the 100 fly with a time of 1:02.19 and the 200 fly by touching up in 2:17.28. Her third win came in the meet's final individual event, the 200 IM, where she clocked in at 2:20.68.

Hartwick's other three individual wins came from Abby Schwartz (Olean, NY/Olean), Olivia Bart (Bristol, CT/Bristol Eastern), and Channing Lewis (Canton, OH/Canton McKinley). Schwartz  won the day's first race, the 1000 free, with a time of 11:13.96, and later finished second in the 500 free in 5:31.36. Bart was first in the 100 free, finishing in 55.47 seconds, and just missed taking the 50 free with a time of 25.13 seconds, four-hundredths of a second behind first place. Lewis grabbed the win in the 200 back in 2:19.22 and a silver in the 100 back at 1:06.30.

The only other 'Wick top-two finish of the day went to Abby Miller (Oneonta, NY/Oneonta), who was second in the 200 free with a time of 2:02.78.

The Hawks rounded out the day with a relay win, as Bart, Lewis, Schwartz, and Miller teamed up for a 3:51.06 in the 400 free relay.

Hartwick is back at it next Saturday, traveling to Springfield, MA to take on Springfield and Union in a pair of dual meets beginning at 1 p.m.
