BROOKLYN, NY – Host Pratt Institute earned an 8-1 victory over Hartwick women's tennis on Saturday in Brooklyn, NY. The Cannoneers defeated the Hawks by a final count of 8-1. Hartwick slips to 2-13 on the season while Pratt improves to 6-2.
Senior
Alyssa Wadsworth (Ilion, NY/Central Valley Academy) scored the lone Hawks' win on the day at fifth singles. She took the first set 6-0 before her opponent, Celic Ruiz retired.
Sophomores
Victoria Wilson (Trenton, NY/Trenton Catholic) and
Jessica Best (Niskayuna, NY/Colonie) were narrowly defeated by Amanda Twu and Lisa Fan at first doubles by a score of 9-7.
The Hawks next play on April 4 at SUNY Oneonta. Match time is 10 a.m.
