GENESEO, NY- The Hartwick men's cross country team closed out the 2021 season today at the NCAA Niagara Regional hosted by SUNY Geneseo at the National Warplane Museum. The men's team placed twenty-first in the cold rain and snow.
Freshman
Aidan Freda (Westtown, NY/Minisink Valley) finished first for the Hawks and one hundred and fifth overall on the flat muddy eight-kilometer course in a new personal best time of 28:45. Senior Captain
Caleb Mallery (Endicott, NY/Union Endicott) finished next in one hundred and twentieth with a time of 29:11. Senior
Omar Nelson (Oneonta, NY/Oneonta) was the third Hawk to cross the finish line in one hundred and thirty-second place, narrowly missing best, in a time of 30:09.       Â

Mark Garceau (Lebanon, NJ/North Hunterdon) finished in one hundred thirty-fourth place in a time of 30:10. Senior
Will May (Bethel Park, PA/Bethel Park)) rounded out the Hawks scoring in one hundred fifty-fourth place with a time of 34:54. Today meet marked the final collegiate cross country race for senior(s) Garceau, Mallery, May, and Nelson. Â Â
Today's meet marks the end of the 2021 cross country season. The Hawks will return for the indoor track and field portion of the schedule on Saturday January 15 at the Utica Winter Open hosted by Utica College in Utica, NY.
