ITHACA, NY – The Hartwick men's swimming and diving accumulated 104 points through the first five events of the Ithaca Invitational on Friday, placing them in seventh of 10 teams at the end of the evening.
Diallo Marshall (Saint George, Antigua & Barbuda/St. Anthony's) had the top finish of the day for 'Wick, finishing third in the 50 free with a time of 20.95. Michael Schultz (Binghamton, NY Chenango Valley) had the only other top-16 finish for the Hawks, at 12th place in the 200 IM with a time of 2:00.00.
Brady Haraden (Ballston Spa, NY/Ballston Spa) and Nic Canney (Chandler, AZ/Corona Del Sol) were 20th and 24th in the 500 free, respectively, touching up in 4:59.11 and 5:00.72.
The 200 medley relay team of Schultz, Sebastian Knowles (Plano, TX/Plano West Senior), Dawson Tupponce (Phoenix, AZ/Desert Vista), and Marshall finished ninth with a time of 1:39.05.
Gabe Castro (Orlando, FL/Cypress Creek) took 11th in three meter diving, with 341.75 points.
Day two of the Invitational begins at 10 a.m. tomorrow, with five swimming events scheduled for the morning session, two diving events at 1 p.m., and four more swimming events to round out the day at 6 p.m.
