UTICA, NY – Hartwick women's tennis, making its first Empire 8 Championship appearance since the 2016 season, bowed out at the hands of host Utica College on Tuesday evening at the Todd & Jen Hunt Sports & Recreation Center. The Hawks, the number six seed in the playoffs, fell the third seeded Pioneers by a count of 8-1.

Jade Killikelly (Jamaica, NY/The Mary Louis Academy) and doubles partner
Victoria Wilson (Trenton, NY/Trenton Catholic) registered the lone victory for Hartwick in the first doubles flight. They came away with a convincing 8-2 win over Utica's top duo of Ellen Lyga and Ellen Collie to trail 2-1 heading into singles play.
The host Pioneers would seal the team victory and a spot in the Empire 8 semifinals on Thursday at second-seeded St. John Fisher by taking all five of the singles matches on the night.
'Wick wraps up the 2021 spring season with a final mark of 1-6.
