BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Hawks gave up a goal to the Mavericks early in the 2
nd quarter, but put up seven unanswered to take their Empire 8 regular season finale 7-1.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
- Neither squad found the back of the cage until the 2nd quarter in the Empire 8 regular season finale for both teams.
- Medaille struck first in the 17th minute.
- However, the Hawks would go on to score three goals over the span of two minutes to take a 3-1 lead heading into halftime.
- Ashley Tricarico (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) tied the contest up in the 23rd minute of play with an assist from Leah Tolley (Pittsford, N.Y.).
- Thirty-eight seconds later, Lex Matarazzo (Commack, N.Y.) put away what would end up being the game winner with another assist from Tolley.
- Faith Weaver notched her third goal of the season in the 25th minute of play to round out the first half scoring for the Hawks. Senior, Sydney Gagnon (Chestertown, N.Y.) picked up the assist.
- Tolley who was an assist machine in the second quarter for Hartwick, picked up an unassisted goal of her own in the 40th minute to give the visitors the 4-1 lead.
- Twenty-six seconds into the 4th quarter, Gagnon put one away to extend the Hawks' lead even further.
- Tricarico and Tolley each put one more away in the 48th and 54th minute respectively for their second goals each for the contest.
UP NEXT FOR THE HAWKS
The Hawks will host the semifinal game at home on Friday, October 4. Their opponent will be the winner of Washington & Jefferson vs Utica which will be played on Wednesday, October 2 at Utica.
