Hawks Fall Short in Home Battle with Muhlenberg

ONEONTA, N.Y. – Hartwick Women's Basketball battled to a 68-60 loss on Saturday afternoon against visiting Muhlenberg College.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
 
  • The Hawks battled back and forth with the visitors through the first half of the first quarter until Muhlenberg was able to pull away, finishing the opening quarter leading Hartwick 26-18.
  • Hartwick battled back in the 2nd quarter, holding the Mules to just 10% from behind the arc and 26.32% from the field overall.  In response, the home squad out-scored the visitors 15-12 in the quarter, cutting the Muhlenberg lead to just five heading into halftime.
  • The Mules flipped the script on the Hawks in the third, winning the quarter 22-12 for a 15-point lead heading into the fourth.
  • Once again, Hartwick battled back, holding Muhlenberg to just eight points in the quarter.
  • Unfortunately, the final quarter push was not enough as the Hawks fell 68-60.
  • Hartwick had three players finish in double figures.
  • Erin Novak (Sommers, Conn.) paced the offense with 15 points, followed by Angelina Maselli (Burlington, Conn.) with 14, and Vasilia Anastos (Endwell, N.Y.) with 10.
  • Meghan Perry (Otego, N.Y.) fell just short of a double-double, snagging 13 rebounds and finishing the contest with nine points.
