Hawks Come Out on Top of Royals in Tight Meet

SCRANTON, Pa. – The Hartwick Hawks Men's Swimming and Diving squad completed the 154-144 win on Saturday afternoon to stay unbeaten in dual meets during first semester competition.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

  • The visiting Hawks started behind, finishing 2nd and 3rd in the 200-yard Medley Relay.
  • However, Hartwick rallied back with a 1, 2, and 4 finish in the 1000-yard Freestyle.
  • While the Royals took first-place and the 9 points in most of the events, the Hawks' depth kept them in it as they consistently finished in the second and third spots.  Sam Cole (Albany, N.Y.), Sebastian Knowles (Plano, Tex.), and Tyler Ladue (Fulton, N.Y.) did just that in the 200-yard Breaststroke, picking up 9 points by finishing 2nd, 3rd, and 4th.
  • Hartwick also picked up important points as Jack Armstrong (Windham, N.H.), Keith Ruiz (San Antonio, Tex.), and Peyton Humphries (South Glens Falls, N.Y.) swept both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving competition.
  • Mikey Schultz (Binghamton, N.Y.) took 1st place in all three of his individual events to also put points on the board for the Hawks.

UP NEXT FOR THE HAWKS

Hartwick will wrap up 2022 at the Ithaca Bomber Invitational, December 2-4 at Ithaca College.
