WEBSTER, NY - After the second day of the four day Championship, the Hartwick Women's Swimming and Diving program remain in 4th place while the men dropped a couple spots to 5th.
The Hartwick Women's Swimming and Diving team is in 4th place out of 10 teams after day 2 of the Allegheny Empire Championships with 244.5 points.
The Hawks started off strong with
Elizabeth Baird (Wilton, NY/Saratoga Springs) claiming the gold in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:14.64, and
Joelle Ocheltree (Libertyville, IL/Libertyville) came in second with a time of 5:16.54.
Abby Miller (Oneonta, Ny/Oneonta) came in 6th with a time of 5:22.44.
In the 200 IM,
Bree Dy (Matawan, NJ/Bishop George AHR) won silver with a time of 2:14.84.
Paige Eaton (East Rochester, NY/Our Lady of Mercy) came in 8th in the 50 freestyle with a time of 26.00, and
Meghan Geczy (Queensbury, NY/Queensburg) came in 10th with a time of 16.70.
Scout Easton (Evergreen, CO/Evergreen) tied for 13th with a time of 26.92.
The Hawks placed 3rd in the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:45.17 with a team consisting of Eaton, Geczy, Ocheltree, and Baird.
The Hartwick Men's Swimming and Diving team is in 5th place out of 8 teams after day 2 of the Allegheny Empire Championships with 256 points.
The Hawks began strong in the 500 freestyle, with
Nic Canney (Chandler, AZ/Corona Del Sol) coming in 5th with a time of 4:50.82.
Brady Haraden (Ballston Spa, NY/Ballston Spa) came in 13th with a time of 5:00.19, and
Austin Clive (Roslyn NY/Roslyn) came in 14th with a time of 5:00.39.
In the 200 IM,
Michael Schultz (Binghamton, NY Chenango Valley) claimed silver with a time of 1:56.07.
Sam Cole (Albany, NY/Guilderland) came in 19th with a time of 2:07.38.
Diallo Marshall (Saint George, Antigua & Barbuda/St. Anthony's) came in 2nd in the 50 fee with a time of 20.97.
Reid Sinkinson (Telford, PA/Souderton Area) came in 12 with a time of 21.76.
In the 200 freestyle relay, the B relay came in 15th with a team consisting of
Sebastian Knowles (Plano, TX/Plano West Senior),
Justin Diamond (Morrisville, VT/Peoples Academy),
Jack Armstrong (Windham, NH/Windham), and
Luis Martinez (Evanston, IL/Evanston). The A relay came in 5th with Marshall,
Devin Masongsong (Pleasant Hill, CA College Park),
Evan Nezat (Jacksonville, NC/Jacksonville), and Sinkinson coming in at 1:27.30.
The Hawks begin Day 3 tomorrow at 10am with a prelims session, and a finals session starting at 5pm, with the 400 Individual Medley, 100 butterfly, 200 freestyle, 100 breaststroke, 100 backstroke, and 400 medley relay events.
