Allie Ray Named Women’s Lacrosse Assistant Coach

ONEONTA, N.Y. – Nora Fallon-Oben, Head Women's Lacrosse Coach has recently announced the addition of Allie Ray as an assistant coach.

Ray comes to Hartwick from Alma College in Alma, Michigan after a successful playing and coaching career with the Scots.  As a coach, Ray focused on teaching proper technique and skill development with a focus on defense and goalkeeping.  Off the field, she focused on student-athlete success in the classroom as well as instructing student-athletes on physical health, team building, and team development.  Ray also coordinated recruiting activities both on and off campus.

As a player with the Scots, Ray was a three-time Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) All-Conference performer.  She currently holds MIAA records in career saves, individual season saves, and regular season single game saves.  In 2019, she was the National Collegiate Athletic Association Statistical Champion for Average Saves per Game.

Ray's leadership was evident not only on the field as a four-year captain, but off the field as well, serving as a Team I.M.P.A.C.T. leader, volunteering for Habitat for Humanity, and along with her teammates completing over 1,300 community service hours.  For their efforts, the Scots Women's Lacrosse program won the IWLCA-Nike Team Community Awareness Award for NCAA Division III in 2017, 2018, and 2019.

"We are thrilled to welcome Allie to our coaching staff!  As a standout goalkeeper and four-time team captain, Allie brings a wealth of knowledge in both x's and o's and in leadership.  We are so excited to have her as an asset in guiding our women's lacrosse program to new heights," commented Coach Fallon-Oben.

"I could not be more excited to join the Hartwick lacrosse family and be a part of this program's continued success on and off the field," said Ray. "I am grateful to Coach Fallon-Oben for giving me this opportunity and am thrilled to be able to work alongside her to continue making an impact in the Empire 8."

Ray graduated with her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology in May 2021.
