Hawks Fall 3-1 in Season Opener with Saints

ONEONTA, N.Y. – The Hartwick Hawks women's soccer team dropped their season and home opener on Thursday night by a score of 3-1 to the visiting St. Lawrence University Saints.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
 
  • The visiting Saints took a 2-0 lead picking up goals in the 32nd and 35th minutes of play respectively.
  • The visitors held the lead until the 67th minute of action when Myah Johnston (Roxbury, N.Y.) found the back of the net for her first collegiate goal.  Hannah Bochniak (Barneveld, N.Y.) picked up the assist.
  • Unfortunately, St. Lawrence took back the one goal advantage just under a minute later.
  • Nicole Conway (Chester, N.Y.) gave the Hawks some chances, getting off three shots and putting one on net.
 
UP NEXT FOR THE HAWKS
 
The Hawks will look to regroup over the weekend as they prepare for their first road match of 2022 with 7 PM kick off on Tuesday, September 6 at SUNY Morrisville.
