Delhi’s Hot Shooting Downs Hawks, 92-79

DELHI, N.Y. – Hartwick dropped a non-conference contest at SUNY Delhi on Tuesday night, 92-79.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
 
  • The host Broncos jumped out to an early lead on the visiting Hawks, gaining as much as a 11-point advantage due to hitting four of five threes in the early part of the first half.
  • Hartwick worked their way back into the contest, knotting it back up at 20-20 with 9:33 left in the half.
  • Delhi turned the tides back into their favor down the stretch of the first half, moving away from the three-ball to pound the paint to take a 51-37 lead over the Hawks heading into halftime.
  • The Broncos continued to dominate the Hawks, going on a 10-point run in the first quarter of the second half, extending their lead to 24 points over the Hawks with just over 13 minutes remaining in the contest.
  • The Hawks worked to get within 12 points after a three-pointer by Sammuel Prosper (Milford, Mass.) with 6:16 remaining.
  • Unfortunately, that's as close as the Hawks would get, ultimately falling 92-79.
  • Five Hawks finished in double-figures with Jeremiah Boateng (Springfield, Va.) leading the way with 18.
  • Tarrell Cumberbatch (Brooklyn, N.Y.) came off the bench to score 15 points.
  • Kevin Felasco (Liverpool, N.Y.) ended his night with 12 points, while Prosper and Bobby Connors (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) finished with 11 and 10 respectively.

The Hawks resume Empire 8 play with a Rochester, N.Y. road trip to take on St. John Fisher on Friday night followed by Nazareth on Saturday.
