Hartwick’s Late Comeback Falls Short Against Medaille

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Hawks fell short in their comeback attempt on Medaille's home floor on Friday night ultimately falling 85-79 in the Empire 8 matchup.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
 
  • Hartwick started hot, jumping out to a 10-point lead just under four minutes into the contest.
  • However, the Mavericks chipped away, tying the score at 29 nearly 10 minutes later.
  • Hartwick and Medaille stayed close for the final six minutes of the half, with the Mavericks taking just a two-point lead into halftime.
  • Just as the Hawks came out hot to start the game, the Mavericks came out hot to start the second half, taking a commanding 17-point lead at the 15:48 mark.
  • Hartwick battled back, closing the gap to three with 21 seconds left, but Medaille was able to secure the victory at the line down the stretch for the 85-79 win.
  • Sammuel Prosper (Milford, Mass.) drove the Hartwick offense, dropping 28 points thanks to a 6 for 10 performance from behind the arc.  The sophomore set multiple career highs on the evening including the 28 points, 6 made three-pointers, and minutes played with 39.
  • Kevin Felasco (Liverpool, N.Y.) followed closely behind, scoring 21 points.
  • Cooper Francis (Lynbrook, N.Y.) also scored in double-figures for the Hawks, scoring 15 points to go along with eight rebounds.
  • Jeremiah Boateng (Springfield, Va.) pulled down eight rebounds and chipped in eight points.
