Hawks Season Ends in E8 First Round

ONEONTA, N.Y. – The Hawks saw their season come to a close on Tuesday night, falling to St. John Fisher in the first round of the Empire 8 tournament.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
 
  • The Cardinals opened the game nailing a three, but Bobby Connors (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) put the Hawks on the board with a fade away jumper from the block.
  • However, Fisher put together a run, scoring 13 straight points before Hartwick could get back on the board.
  • The hosts continued to pour it on for the remainder of the first half, ultimately taking a 51-23 lead into halftime.
  • The Cardinals did not let up in the second half, claiming the Empire 8 Championship First Round contest 103-54 over the Hawks.
  • Cooper Francis and Tarrell Cumberbatch (Brooklyn, N.Y.) contributed eight point each for Hartwick, while Daniel Oyediran (Madison, N.J.) tacked on seven.
  • In their final contest in Hartwick uniforms, Nick Bantis (Brooklyn, N.Y.), Zach Hayn (Brooklyn, N.Y.), and Connors each scored for the Hawks.
