ONEONTA, N.Y. – The Hartwick College Hawks placed 84 student-athletes on the Fall 2022 Empire 8 President's List for their academic achievements.  The President's List award is noted as one of the conference's highest honors.
 
In order to qualify, student-athletes must earn a 3.75 grade-point average or higher during the semester, display positive conduct on and off campus, be enrolled full-time, while also participating in an NCAA-sponsored sport.  For the Hawks, all 18 sports had at least one student-athlete named to the President's List, with football leading the men's side with 14 honorees and soccer leading the way on the women's side with 8 honorees.
 
In addition, 13 teams received Empire 8 All-Academic Team honors.  Individual programs must post a team GPA of a 3.2 or higher for the semester. 
 
Overall, the Empire 8 honored 1,100 student-athletes in the fall.  All ten member institutions posted a GPA of a 3.00 or higher, and five recorded an average GPA of greater than a 3.0.  Of the conference's total of 3,931 student-athletes, the average GPA was a 3.23.
