ONEONTA, N.Y. – The 2023 Outdoor Track and Field Empire 8 Championships concluded its second and final day of competition on Saturday afternoon. Seven teams came into the meet aspiring for the Empire 8 championship trophy. After 22 contested events over these last two days, the Hartwick Women's Track and Field team finished 7th accumulating 3 points. All of them coming from their relay teams throughout the meet.

The quartet of Giovanna Wall (West Hurley, N.Y.), Ashley Neier (Whitesboro, N.Y.), Atti Dinsmore (Burkburnett, Tex.), and Ashley Tricarico (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) finished 6th in the 4x100m. Their performance brought in 1 point for the Hawks.

The 4x400m Relay team of Wall, Tricarico, Maddy Smith (Oneonta, N.Y.), and Brynita Haas (Red Creek, N.Y.) finished 6th to score 1 point for the Hawks.

Prior to the 4x400m Relay, Haas finished 11th in the 5000m with a time of 20:11.01.

Tricarico would later compete in the 200m where she placed 13th.

Wall also finished 15th in the Shot Put.

Sophie Ridgway (Albany, N.Y.) and Smith also ran the 5000m and finished 19th and 20th respectively. Ridgway's time of 23:40.19 seconds was a personal best time by a whopping 73 seconds!

Today's meet marks the end of the 2023 Outdoor Track and Field Season. The Hawks will return next fall for the 2023 cross country season.
